01 / WHY COTO
The distance between craft and opportunity should be smaller.
Good carpets need good information to reach the right market. COTO aims to bring scattered product details, capacity, prices and responsibilities into a shared process, helping participants make informed decisions across borders.
The ambition includes weaver groups and women artisans, manufacturers, exporters, importers, retailers and project buyers. Better visibility should recognise the maker’s contribution while giving buyers a clearer basis for sourcing and trade.
02 / THE BIDDERS’ PLATFORM
Trade begins with common ground.
A proposed digital exchange for business buyers and sellers, with bidding built around the details that matter.
EXPLORE THE PROPOSED EXPERIENCEILLUSTRATIVE WALKTHROUGH
YOUR STARTING POINT
Bring your craft to a wider market.
For manufacturers and exporters seeking direct access to volume buyers. Present your products and define the terms on which you want to trade.
Crypto payments are not yet available. Provider onboarding and supported bank settlement are required.
THE PROPOSED TRADE JOURNEY
Clear information. Agreed terms.
COTO brings the trading conversation around a shared specification, with due diligence on both sides.
01
Define the carpet and the order
Record materials, construction, design, origin and the required volume. Geographical indication, where applicable, forms part of the quality discussion.
02
Compare and negotiate
Bring buyers and sellers together around price, quantity and quality. Review counterparties and the supporting information before agreeing a trade.
03
Document the agreement
Set out commercial terms, delivery requirements and payment arrangements. The platform proposal links these records with a digital title to the goods.
04
Follow the carpet’s journey
The intended approach records ownership and supply-chain handovers, helping participants connect origin, delivery and settlement information.
ORIGIN, MAKER & DESIGN
A record that travels with the carpet.
The COTO proposal includes a digital passport: a connected record of the product and the people behind it. Its purpose is to make the information needed for trade easier to follow.
Production location and the weaver or manufacturer
Product & design
Materials, construction, design records and specifications
Quality & certification
Supporting standards, certificates and product information
Ownership & delivery
Agreed title, documented handovers and delivery records
A proposed information framework. Digital records support verification; they do not replace independent checks or establish legal rights by themselves.
A MORE ACCOUNTABLE TRADE
Know the origin. Recognise the value.
Provenance & traceability
The COTO vision uses digital records to connect a carpet’s origin with its journey through the supply chain.
Design & intellectual property
Documenting design and ownership is part of the proposed approach to recognising the work behind each carpet.
Clear terms & settlement
The proposed platform brings product specifications, mutual due diligence and agreed payment terms into a shared process.
Blockchain and AI form part of COTO’s original platform proposal. These capabilities describe the intended direction.
03 / A GLOBAL INDUSTRY PROPOSITION
From making carpets to building a stronger business.
COTO’s proposed offer combines a trade platform with programmes for production, market access and value-chain improvement, adapted to each business and region.
Programmes are proposed and subject to scoping, team availability and a separate agreement. Subscription terms and service fees will be published when available.
USE CASES FROM THE COTO PRESENTATION
Provenance. Accountability. Transparency.
The COTO presentation sets out blockchain use cases for digital title, provenance and shared records, alongside AI use cases for design, supply-chain communication and production support.
Match carpet title transfer to payment. The presentation’s proposed workflow generates a digital title for delivery and uses smart-contract execution for payment settlement.
Capture inventory data through a web application, record digital assertions on the blockchain platform, and combine them with data analytics to follow information from manufacturing to end consumption.
Connect producer and manufacturer information, RFID identification, sustainability standards and certificates with a tokenised digital passport for the finished carpet.
Automate and validate contracts; communicate quantity, quality, payment and invoice information; manage inventory and ownership transfers; and share contract and delivery information between participants.
Use cloud-based machine learning to interpret information from a production line and share it across branches, supporting material provision, maintenance and other processes.
The use cases above are summarised from the original COTO PPT and describe its proposed platform and tools. They are not live services on this website.
These are proposed use cases from the presentation, not a statement that public blockchain, AI, digital-title transfer or automated payment settlement is operational. Read the service disclosures ↗
COTO aims to reduce information delays and opaque intermediation, giving smaller producers a clearer route to international business demand.
Trade on a shared understanding.
Compare specifications, quality, volume, location and timing. Agree USD prices, delivery responsibilities, inspection, payment milestones and claims before committing. Keep changes and confirmed receipts linked to one order.
Make inclusion part of the model.
Preserve weaver-group identity, explore assisted onboarding and record cluster allocation and producer payment obligations. Measure participation and producer benefit alongside trading activity.
Weaver groups, artisan enterprises, manufacturers and exporters of handmade and machine-made carpets, alongside importers, retailers, designers and project buyers worldwide. The proposed platform connects business demand with product specifications, available volume, location and delivery requirements.
Can I buy a single rug here?
The platform proposal focuses on business-to-business trade. This website does not offer retail checkout, product ordering or live auctions.
What support is proposed for manufacturers and exporters?
Proposed support covers production and cluster capacity, quality and market readiness, bidding, counterparty review and coordination of trade documents and payment records. Explore our industry services for the complete approach.
How would technology support the platform?
The original proposals explore blockchain for shared product and ownership records and AI or analytics for business decisions. Implementation, integrations and availability would need to be confirmed for any engagement.
How do market entry and consortium branding differ?
Market-entry work helps a business prepare for a new destination market. Consortium branding brings smaller producers together around a common identity and shared route to market.
Are subscriptions and platform payments available?
The proposed model includes volume-linked subscriptions, bidding participation fees, paid recommendations and statistics, market-entry programmes and consortium branding. Pricing is not yet published. This website does not collect fees or process payments. See the investor overview for the revenue logic.
04 / START A CONVERSATION
Let’s weave better connections.
Manufacturers, exporters, importers and prospective partners: share where you fit in the carpet trade and what you want to build.
Invited pilot: no payment collection, escrow or active public-chain anchoring. Reviews and financial results are published only with supporting evidence.
BLOCKCHAIN + AI / 18 OPERATING DESIGNS
Know the source. See the evidence.
Explore ten additional mechanisms for material origins, producer payments, certificates, authenticity, environmental claims, trade documents, logistics, design rights, circularity and remediation.
Each explains who is accountable, how evidence is checked and what must be proven before release. These are proposed designs; AI and public blockchain services remain in development.
PRODUCTIVITY, QUALITY & LEARNING / PROPOSED OPERATING MODEL
Productivity is more than speed.
Explore COTO's proposed approach to mapping production capability, quality, delivery, producer outcomes and learning - comparing similar carpet specifications rather than raw output alone.
Proposed design, not an activated service or populated sector map. Research on Egyptian rug producers informs the measurement approach; it is not evidence of COTO outcomes. Source: Atkin, Khandelwal and Osman (2017) ↗.
